The SCAA Ball
The Royal Caledonian Charities Trust's first fundraising event north of the border, the SCAA Ball will be held on Saturday 28th September, 2024, at Edinburgh's Assembly Rooms. The event will be in aid of the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).
About the SCAA Ball
In memory of John Bullough
The SCAA Ball will be held in memory of the late John Bullough, who served as SCAA’s founding Chairman from 2013 and sadly died in 2023. Under his leadership, SCAA responded to nearly 5,000 callouts and raised over £50 million to support their mission.
In aid of SCAA
Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance saves and improves lives across Scotland every day. It currently operates two helicopters and two rapid response vehicles, taking life-saving pre-hospital care to the scene of time-critical emergencies before transporting patients to hospital.
In the footsteps of history
The Ball will be held at the Assembly Rooms on George Street, Edinburgh. Originally opened in 1787, a Peers' Ball was held in the Assembly Rooms on the occasion King George IV's visit to Scotland in August 1822 - about three months after the first Royal Caledonian Ball was held.
Much like the Royal Caledonian Ball, the SCAA Ball will be a formal white tie event. Dinner and a live auction will be followed by reeling until around 1am. Invitations will be sent out in due course.
