The Edinburgh Ball
On Saturday 28th September, 2024, the Royal Caledonian Charities Trust hosted a Ball at Edinburgh's Assembly Rooms: its first event north of the border in its two hundred year history. Held in memory of the late John Bullough MBE, the event raised a total of £17,500 for Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) - the organisation Mr Bullough helped set up and dedicated much of his life to.
About the SCAA Ball
In memory of John Bullough
The SCAA Ball was held in memory of the late John Bullough, who served as SCAA’s founding Chairman from 2013 and sadly died in 2023. Under his leadership, SCAA responded to nearly 5,000 callouts and raised over £50 million to support their mission.
In aid of SCAA
Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance saves and improves lives across Scotland every day. It currently operates two helicopters and two rapid response vehicles, taking life-saving pre-hospital care to the scene of time-critical emergencies before transporting patients to hospital.
In the footsteps of history
The Ball will be held at the Assembly Rooms on George Street, Edinburgh. Originally opened in 1787, a Peers' Ball was held in the Assembly Rooms on the occasion King George IV's visit to Scotland in August 1822 - about three months after the first Royal Caledonian Ball was held.
